I want to use this blog to tell you about these items as
well as showing you how to make your own things, but also, just thoughts on
living/coping with kids!! I do weekly posts and have a scheduale (which may
change if you guys tell me you need something different, but for now, this is
the layout plan)
Week 1 – Things to do with or for kids
-I
have learnt stuff from other blogs and through trial and error, I know some
things that work… or don’t work! We have
done lots of fun activities as well as trialing various ways of organising
their stuff and my stuff to get them (or the stuff) safe….we may not hear much
about this for a while yet! Still
figuring it out
Week 2 - Promotions
and Competitions Week
-
I love my product and I want you to see how great it is, so every 5 weeks I
will run some kind of competition or promotion so some lucky reader will be
able to enjoys the goods!
Week 3 – My favourite Pins!!
-I
love Pinterest, and I pin about a million new things each week, so I figure I
could share some of this with you!!
Week 4 – Tutorial
-
I pass on some of the things I have learnt over the years. Varying from sewing tips and clothing or
accessory items to crafts that I love to do or ones you can do with your
kids…and also my son wants to do demonstrations of origami!
Week 6 –Money Saving Tips
-One
of my passions, as mentioned below, is saving money. I am not always the master of this, but I do
try and I will share with you things I have learnt, recipes I have made and
websites I have found, because right now, it seems that knowing how to save
money is something that everyone needs!
I am a mum of 3 preschoolers...but in about 3 months my oldest will start school. I have been married to my wonderful and inspiring husband for 8 years and have lived in Auckland, Vancouver, Canada and now back in Auckland again.
I have a fashion degree from AUT and have always wanted to start my own children's wear range...so now I have. I started Salubrious, as such, in about 2007 and have gone back and forth with different ideas and ways to sell. And trying to fit in the time to sew around my children...and my pregancies!!
So a bit about me, I am a stay at home mum of 3 kids (6yrs,
4yrs and 2yrs) who amaze me constantly with the things they say, help me
appreciate small things, drive me insane and love me unconditionally. I am also married (we don’t need to know ages
here do we?) to a tall, dark ginger and handsome man, who amazes me
constantly with the things he says, helps me appreciate science fiction, drives
me insane, and loves me unconditionally!!
I like to spend too much time on pinterest, check my
facebook page more times than necessary, save money and try new recipes. As a family we love to go on adventures, we
love camping and tramping as well as day trips in our 4 wheel drive or even
just to a mall further away than the local one!! We also love to stay in…put the kids to bed
early and watch DVDs with a big bottle of coke and a packet of chips! We have Friday Family Fun night as often as
we can fit it in, try hard to do bible devotions at breakfast time and read
together before the kids go to bed. If I
had money, I would love eating out, travelling, relaxing on tropical beaches,
and going on cruises!!
Currently I have items for sale at Hatch, in Eastridge Mall, Mission Bay, Auckland http://www.hatch.co.nz/ as well as on line at http://www.felt.co.nz/shop/salubrious and http://www.etsy.com/shop/salubrious. But I am looking for more new and exciting places to sell and have a couple up my sleeve at the moment!!
I love creating cute, pretty, funky and unique clothing for kids and I love that with every new idea or design, then at least one of my kids gets a whole lot of new clothes as I perfect the idea! So it's a win win situation, you know that that the products have been tested and I get new clothes for my kids! I have a short attention span, so I am all about the new ideas!!
I'd love to hear about your ideas, items that you like, something that you like but would love it if it had the frill from that item or the picutre in the other one. I love making individual, one off garments and I love knowing that I have made something that you really wanted!!
Please subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on
