Cheese

I made cheese... this is homely type part 2 i rekon! First of all I made youghurt, from milk, not from the esiyo packets even!!  then I drained the wey from the curds added salt (should've added more though) and ended up with cheese...

(this is the cheese sitting in the teatowel as it drained)

Cheese that I decided was close enough to cream cheese, that I thought I'd make a cheesecake with it.  It tasted fine...i dont know if it would normally taste better, but I found it very more-ish!  Well it was chocolate chunk cookie dough cheesecake...so it may have been nothing to do with the cheese!!  But at least the cheese didnt make it unedible!!
I forgot to take a pic before we dug into it, so the pic was a day or so into it!
I should make a tutorial on how to do this sort of amamzing stuff eh??  :)

And I was a great mum too!  I did paper mache with my kids (See proof photo)  And I had a great idea on how to get rid of some of those pictures they bring home from kindy...we ripped it all up and paper mache'd it.  And they thought it was a great idea!  Now I just have one thing to find a place for.... until they decide they want to see how well it burns in the fire place.... yes amazing mum!!  Very creative!
Ok, too tired for blogging, just wanted to fill you in on my things that I took pictures of!

Girls Day

The Beautiful Red Nails

More modelling work!!

Modeling the new Aprons
My oldest boy went to stay at his grandparent's house for the night so he could watch the concrete trucks come and do the driveway the next day…so me and Tyler had a special girls time. We ate our dinner on a blanket in the lounge in front of the TV (her choice…we watched Dora!) and we painted her nails (see pic!) and then did a wee bit of modeling of my new aprons!

It was fun to have Tyler all to myself without her having to compete for attention with her older brother... still had the baby, but he just sleeps, eats and entertains himself most of the time!

Check out the new aprons at http://www.etsy.com/listing/35298847/childrens-aprons?ref=pr_shop

Today I am working on some dresses and some skirts...so stay tuned :)

Star Charts

Star charts are so much more satifiying with a 4 year old. My 2 year old just doesn’t get it… we do mini star charts

Pen + Scrap Paper + a fairy stamp = Star Chart

Every followed instruction gets a stamp, 5 stamps get a reward…either dessert or a DVD. And still she doesn’t usually get 5 stamps!

But my 4 year old, he gets it now. So he has jobs like, setting the table, tidying ALL the toys out of the lounge, taking out the recycling. And he is always asking "what good thing can I do now mummy?" His first reward was getting to choose what we have for dinner… so we spent ages looking through recipe books to find the perfect meal, and eventually he chose Mac'n Cheese!...with bits of bacon on the top!! …we changed it over time to bacon, onion and tomato in the sauce and crumbled up nacho chips on top… it was really good!! And a chocolate cake for dessert, which he decorated with sprinkles …needless to say, it got quite sweet!!

The Homely type

For some weird reason I seem to be enjoying homely mothery things at the moment.  I made up a big batch of pureed kumera and pureed apple and froze it in icecubes for baby.  And I have been dehydrating apples for days, for healthy snacks for the kids (they think they are chips!)  And tonight I made a full meal to feed 4 out of 1 left over serving of Devilled Sausages (which I made from scratch, not the packet mix)  added some veges, some left over white sauce, some chicken stock (which was also homemade!) and topped it with sliced potatoes and kumera.  Tonight I am going to decoupage a box and make some more yoghurt.... move over Martha Stewart!!

Excitment Corner: I got my new labels, sewed one on to an apron.  Quite exciting stuff.  I think it looks really cool!

Getting into the blogging

Ok, I've been reading up on how to blog!!  You think I'd be good at this sort of thing!  I love talking about myself..ha!  Anyway.  Word `on the street is "keep it short" , lots of pictures and talk about about personal things, not just the stuff I am selling...So...
My boys have gone tramping this weeked...well the 2 oldest ones (Dad and the 4 year old)  They've gone to the Pinnacles, I found that super hard years ago when I did it...It'll be interesting to see how the 4 year old fares!  I think it has been a little too much watching of "Everest, Beyond the Limit"  Husband talks about the back up plan in case the "cant make the summit attempt!"
So anyway, that gives me time to do all the stuff around the house that I FEEL like doing, so far I FELT like digging in the garden for half and hour, then I FELT like planting some of my cuttings out in the top garden for a little bit, I FELT like dehydrating some apples, and I felt like having apple crumble and coke for lunch.  This afternoon I think I shall sew!
That's my other exciting thing, I have started stocking some of my products in a shop called Hatch, in Eastridge Mall, Mission Bay!  So I need to sew more things so that they have more than headbands and dribble bibs in the store.  Check out my link to find out more about the store.
Ok Now how do I post photos.... Was this short enough??

Above is my little one posing for my Star Blanket labels.  These blankets are great, because the legs are separate you can put them straight from bed to the car seat to the pushchair...that and they look SUPER cute dressed up like a little star!
This is my 2 big ones getting ready to go snowboarding......
My Aunty just found a half made dress that she had started for one of her daughters (who are now 21 and 23!)  So I finished off, my daughter got one wear and a photo shoot and we decided it is really a bit small for her, so handed it down to my cousin's daughter!
Our most recent tramping trip....Tongario crossing...well, ok it is the track for the crossing but we only went 30 minutes in, camped out and then wallked back again!
